REYCO has recently agreed to a partnership to provide Air Decontamination Systems to the food processing industry utilizing Steril-Aire ultraviolet (UVC) light. This technology promises to kill yeast, molds, and bacteria including listeria mono. and E. coli as these airborne contaminants pass by the UVC Emitters™. REYCO designs these systems to provide a 95% to 99% efficient bacterial kill and compares well to HEPA filtration to help you reduce maintenance and energy costs.
In conjunction with our Ultraviolet decontamination partner Steril-Aire, REYCO has custom engineered the Model UVC100 Air Decontamination System for use in food processing facilities and related industries. Ultraviolet (UVC Emitter™) technology has been around since 1900. Indeed, the 1904 Nobel Prize was presented to a gentleman who proved that UVC technology was effective at killing bacteria and molds. These early emitters provided a very good “bacterial kill” at temperatures above 90°F but became minimally effective at 70°F and below. It wasn’t until the mid 1990’s that Steril-Aire began producing UVC Emitters™ that had enough energy and could operate at the lower temperatures the food industry required that this decontamination technology became practical for the food industry. This technology was further developed through C&S Equipment to be “shatter-resistant” and manufactured with water-tight fittings so that it has been FDA/USDA approved for use in a “food-grade,” wash-down environment. The REYCO Model UVC100 Air Decontamination System has the capability to effectively kill microbes in a food processing facility and can provide air with a kill ratio of 95%, 97.5% and 99% efficiency depending upon the UVC Emitter™ configuration. This unit can be fitted to an existing air recirculation system or can be built as a stand-alone unit to efficiently decontaminate cool air and recycle this air back to a production room. The REYCO Model UVC100 can recirculation up to 10,000 cfm while reducing yeast, mold, and bacteria including coli form, E. coli, listeria mono., and other contaminates to minimal levels. |
